Types of Treatment
BGGZ – Short-term treatment
We offer short-term, focused treatment within Basic GGZ (B-GGZ). Together, we clearly identify your symptoms and needs and formulate concrete treatment goals: what would you like to be able to do, feel, or achieve again in your daily life? Treatment is practical and straightforward. We build on your own strengths and focus on strengthening the skills that help you continue independently. Where appropriate, we use homework and exercises to do at home, so you can actively work on your recovery between sessions. Treatment lasts as short as possible and as long as necessary, usually within a pre-agreed and predictable timeframe. We regularly evaluate whether the treatment is having the desired effect and make adjustments when needed. If a different or more intensive type of treatment is necessary to meet your needs, we will discuss this and arrange an appropriate referral.
SGGZ treatment
We also offer specialized mental health care (sGGZ) for clients with complex, multiple, and/or severe psychological problems. Care is delivered in accordance with the applicable sGGZ quality framework and focuses on recovery, reduction of symptoms, and improvement of daily and social functioning. Treatment is provided in line with evidence-based guidelines and professional standards and is delivered under the responsibility of a designated coordinating practitioner (regiebehandelaar). Depending on the complexity of the presenting problems, treatment may be delivered within a multidisciplinary team. The therapeutic approach builds on the client's own strengths, promotes self-management, and focuses on developing skills that support sustainable recovery. Where appropriate, homework assignments and therapeutic exercises are used so that clients can actively work on their recovery between sessions. The duration and intensity of treatment are tailored to the severity and complexity of the problems, following the principle of being as brief and least intensive as possible and as long and intensive as necessary. Treatment progress and effectiveness are evaluated regularly and systematically, including through evaluation meetings and, where applicable, the use of Routine Outcome Monitoring (ROM). The treatment plan is adjusted as needed based on these evaluations. If, during the course of treatment, it becomes apparent that a different form of care, additional treatment, or a higher level of care is required, this is discussed with the client in a timely manner and an appropriate referral or transfer of care is arranged. Continuity, coherence, and quality of care are central throughout the treatment process.
